Chaos on the Internet
The other day I got things together and wrote
the February News and Views, trawling through various periodicals and
journals and observing the activity at the end of Market St. However, I
can't remember where I wrote it. I have a computer in my home office where I
usually do this stuff, and one in my office as well as access to two
laptops, and in order to help me move things from one place to another I
have a wonderful miniature hard drive which stores 20 gigabytes or
something. I'm not quite sure what this means except that its a lot.
Combine this situation with a lack of ability
to upload stuff to the internet on the home office computer and anything
could happen - or download stuff if it comes to that. Because of the
failings in the system I got a full refund from the the broadband provider
some months ago, but they failed to disconnect me. I says something about
the service, that even though it is free I still want to be disconnected sp
that I can get some-one else to provide the facility.
Finally I was disconnected last Thursday - but
they seem to have disconnected the phone as well. BT say that it is
something wrong with the equipment in my house, even though there is nothing
connected, and they can't send an engineer until next week.
So at this moment I am searching for the
February News and Views. If I don't fidn them by the end of today this is
all there is going to be!
