HARRISONS OFFSHORE

Harrisons (Clyde) used to be a traditional British shipping company once. They operated general cargo ships, which if memory serves ran from Liverpool to the West Indies and bits of South America. In the mid 1970s they started up an offshore division, which was known as Stirling Shipping abd is addressed elsewhere on this site. In 2001 Stirling were bought by Seacor, but two of the ships were personally owned by the Harrison family, so they kept them and renamed them. They were both VS 473s. They were sold in 2005 to Havila and Rovtech respectively, and so ended yet another chapter in British maritime history. This written in January 2010.
