PICTURE OF THE DAY 2015

Photographs of offshore support vessels in action in many parts of the world. 

This is a ship in the news. It is the unusual Maersk Mariner which has been sent to the breakers. It is, or was, one of two very unusual vessels built by Maersk in the mid 1980s, with a hatch forward of the accommodation/ This was seldom used, but their strength back in the day was the wire capacity of the winch.
