THE BOURBON DOLPHIN

Together with everyone else connected with the offshore industry, we extend our condolences to the families of those who were lost when the Bourbon Dolphin capsized, and to the survivors who lost their shipmates.

It has taken many of us who are connected only distantly with the event, some days to get over the shock, and we understand that an enquiry is about to take place, probably initiated by a Norwegian Government Marine Department.

We expect that in time we may be able to report on the enquiry which we hope will result in a reduction in the risk of this event occurring ever again.

Regular visitors to this site will know that in this column we try to take a slightly light-hearted view of events in the industry, which would seem to us to be inappropriate at this time, so as a mark of respect we will finish with a picture of the Bourbon Dolphin in happier times.
