Gulf acquire Sea Truck
GulfMark Offshore Inc reached an agreement to
purchase Seatruck Holdings on 30th may 2001. Sea truck own five platform ships four of
which operate in the North Sea, and which are already crewed and managed by Gulf Offshore
(North Sea) Ltd. the total purchase price was apparently $61.8 million.
This purchase may at least in part be as a
result of the predatory approach of Tidewater who have purchased a number of vessels which
are currently part of the Gulf managed fleet, and the general emergence of American owners
as players in the deep water market.
