This is my summer selection for viewing while I am on holiday. This website has no automatic components, so unusually, when you communicate with it, you are communicating with me. The only bit of it which is automatic is the paypal arrangement for purchasing books, but even then, a paypal order results in a communication from me, thanking you and indicating when the order will be delivered. This includes my fiction work RigMoves - buy one, you'll like it!! Now on to the photos- click on them to enlarge. The first is the former Maersk L class Blizzard collecting a Yokohama from the Maersk Tackler while both were working with Castoro 7, and almost collecting the stern of the Maersk ship as well. It is n ot easy to get within heaving line range I can tell you. Photo by Andriy Kalov. The second - having featured the Normand Atlantic recently here is the other UT740, the Normand Neptun leaving the Scottish port of Montrose, captured by Scott Boulter. Thirdly the Pacific Aurora outside the port of Takoradi. It is a well stimulation vessel, and was waiting to go to the Sedco Energy to pump noxious fluids down the well at which the rig was working. Captured the other day by Pat McCardle. Lastly here is the Siem Opal towing the recently refitted Galaxy 1 jackup out of the Cromarty Firth on its way to the Blizzard Platform. In the background the Nigg construction facility where back in the 1970s thousands of workers constructed platforms and jackets for the North Sea oil boom. Photo by Alistair Morton.
