PICTURE OF THE DAY 2012

Photographs of offshore support vessels in action in many parts of the world. 

This is a  photograph from the other end of the world. The DP semi-submersible Leiv Eiriksson is drilling a hole in deep water for Borders and Southern in the territorial waters of the Falkland Islands, and the Toisa Sonata, also on DP, is alongside with a load of what looks like deep water riser on board. The unnamed photographer was on board one of the helicopters assigned to the operation.It's busy busy down there. The photo was sent by Josko Mikelic.
