PICTURE OF THE DAY 2012

Photographs of offshore support vessels in action in many parts of the world. 

This is a jack-up which has made it safety to the calm waters of Valetta Harbour, despite its ridiculously minimal freeboard. It is the Energy Exerter, owned by a company called "Northern Offshore". That's to say, I have known companies called Northern Offshore, but not this one I don't think. This rig was built in 1982 and was once the Trident XI. Apparently it is now available for hire in Malta.
