Hallin's first ship
entered service in 2008. It has other vessels on
charter and some ships being built. In late 2009
it was taken over by Superior Energy Services
(UK). All its vessels are involved in diving, ROV
and survey activities. It appears that the
marine part of the company is operated from
Singapore, and therefore the company is assigned
to that part of the website. In addition to the
vessel presented here they also charter a number
of ships.
The company is continuing to build and to
charter ships, and is constructing something
which is half way between a ship and a rig. It
is suggested that this new vessel has a unique
hull form, but it looks like a swath ship. It is
to be engaged in well intervention.
As of the 2013
review it looks as if the CSS (Compact
Semi-Submersible) Derwent is close to entering
service. Since it is a semi-submersible I have
not chosen to include it here for the present.
There is also an accommodation vessel based on
the same hull form due some time this year,
according to the newbuilding reports.
