The first we heard
of Garware was when they ordered a UT 755 from a
Norwegian yard in about 2005, but they have
been about in India for many years. They were
incorporated as the Garware Shipping Company in
1976. The current chairman is son of the
founder of the company.
Garware have a
couple of subsidiaries, one in Holland and one
in Singapore. The latest addition to the fleet
the Beaucephalus (Named after Alexander the
Great's horse) was delivered to the Dutch
subsidiary Global Marine Services. Shipbuilding
reports indicate that they have an option for a
further Havyard 832 but we don't know if this
was taken up. The name was changed to Global
Offshore Services in March 2011 apparently. and
hence this page is also renamed.
Information
updated on 12th May 2011 (With the assistance of
Behram Nagporwala)
At the 2014 review,
still with limited information, we can see that
the additional Havyard 832 has been delivered.
At the 2015 review there is even less
information but probably the total fleet is
listed here, with some limited ship details.
