VARUN SHIPPING

Varun Shipping is an Indian Company owning at the time of writing (6th February 2007) nineteen ships. Sixteen of them are deep sea vessels, Twelve are LNG carriers, one is a product tanker and in addition they own three  crude oil carriers. At the bottom of their list were, until recently, two small Japanese built anchor-handlers. Now they have added the former Boa King to the fleet, and this will soon be followed by the Boa Queen. These are a different class of vessel altogether.

Boa are apparently to retain management of the Boa King or as it is now the "Subhiksha" until further notice.

Varun is an Indian shipowner, operating 10 LPG carriers, 3 crude oil carriers and 7 offshore vessels. The offshore vessels are all anchor-handlers, two of them purchased new in Norway, versions of the UT 712 and the other five are all second hand, three being the VS designs originally built in Dalian for Boa. At the update in 2013 there had been no changes to the offshore fleet, however some of the details have been enhanced using information for the ship types from different owners.

In the early months of 2015 Varun can be seen to have sold what are probably their best ships. In the offshore feet they are now left with three early Chinese ships and two pretty ancient Japanese ones.
