Unfortunately we lack
information about almost all American supply vessel companies. However
this should not prevent us including their pictures when they are
available. Perhaps someone will tell us something about the companies
later. Although saying
that, a bit of research has indicated the Sea Mar Inc was purchased by
Pool Energy Services, presumably the rig owners in 1998 and they in turn
were purchased almost immediately by Nabors. These various transactions
seem to have caused a few bumps in the purchase by Sea Mar of
anchor-handlers from Halter Marine and the provision of anchor-handling
services to Rowan.
The records
available to us indicate that this company may be
operating a fleet of more than 20 ships. However, only
those for which we have photographs available are
included here.
Without me noticing
Hornbeck Offshore purchased the whole Sea Mar fleet of
20 vessels in service, and one under construction in
2007, and apart from one they now seem to have
disappeared without a trace. That is is not to say that
they are no the HOS something, it is just that I can't
readily tell. So yet anothe American supply ship company
becomes history. It goes on. 9/3/12.
