MED OFFSHORE

Like many shipping companies Med Offshore started off as part of a family company known for many years as the Garolla Group, started in 1870 by Frederico Garolla. The company, based in Genoa was a provider of bunkers, firstly coal and then oil. And as a result they became tanker owners.

In later years they expanded into the offshore industry and today own a selection of classic offshore vessels as well as some newer tonnage. They have apparently ordered ships from Damen shipyards.

The details of the Med Offshore fleet are a bit sketchy. They have obviously not updated their website for years since the Med Otto was delivered in 2006, and the Med Dieci in 2010. Do they still operate all this old stuff? There are some real classics here.

By the 2013 review details of this company have been reduced even more, and unfortunately the name has made internet searches virtually impossible. Apparently they have taken delivery of a Damen AHTS 140, but even the Damen site does not give us any detail so the ship, so unless I happen to discover more it is unlikely that this page will change for some time.
