Esvagt have been operating since 1981, blazing a unique trail in the standby boat world by approaching the task of rescuing people from the sea in a seamanlike manner. They chose vessels and systems which they thought would best do the job, and as a result are able to launch and recover their FRCs in virtually any weather conditions. To prove that they are able to do this, and to make their job easier, they have a crew transfer vessel which sails around the serviced locations and changes crews by FRC in all but the most extreme weather.

In this page we have chosen to put the ships which have towing capability in the Anchor-handler table, even though they also have ERRV capability.

Esvagt are now part of the Svitzer group which is in turn owned by Maersk.

At the 2014 review it can be seen that the company have added a couple of XBows, as field support vessels in Norway. All of the old stuff has been retained.

In July 2015 Esvagt was sold by its then owners, Maersk, to two investment companies. They are 3i Infrastructure plc and AMP Capital. At the time of a review of their fleet we can see that they have a new category "Wind Service Operation Vessel". It is difficult to assess what these ships require for that category, but anyway we'll make a start.

At the 2015 review the company had deployed 3 new ERRVs of the 45 metre class and had also put into service two windfarm service vessels. There is also a third one of these vessels on order. The company apparently owns a ship called the Esvagt Server, of which no sign on their website.
