K Line are a recent addition to offshore support vessel owners. They have what looks like a very nice office in Arendal, opened in 2007. They are almost wholly owned by the Japanese shipping company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha who have a total of 504 ships in service in a variety of trades. They took delivery of their first vessel the KL Arendalfjord in 2008 and at the time of writing have just put their second vessel the KL Sandefjord into service. This ship designed and build by STX breaks all previous records for anchor-handlers in all categories.

Since the last update there seem to have been no changes to the offshore fleet. This is an enormous company and one assumes that they are constantly building ships in whatever category they see as being financially rewarding. One can't help thinking that they are right to focus elsewhere, particularly due to the competition in this market.

At the 2014 review there seem to have been no changes to the fleet, although they might have a new Operations Manager.
