TECHNIP

Technip has been about almost as long as many of us can remember, which in my case is quite a long time in the life of the offshore industry. In the early part of this century they merged with Coflexip, both of them being French in origin and the company headquarters are still in Paris. Both companies used to hire ships to carry out their projects which were predominantly under the water.

Today Technip operates a number of their own ships and hires others on long term charter. The ships both owned and hired are included here, as well as on the sites of their actual owners where appropriate. Although many of these ships have two roles - essentially pipelayers and heavy lift ships, these are designated as pipelayers. The others are probably diving ships.

At the 2014 review one ship had been sold and there are quite a few on order.
