TSCHUDI OFFSHORE

ITC - International Transport Contractors were incorporated in 1973 as a ship management company for the Norwegian organisation Tschudi & Eitzen and in 2003 became part of that group.

For this website our interest in the company was initiated by their purchase of a number of the Maersk L class anchor-handlers and the classic Smit vessels the Typhoon and Tempest. According to their news pages they have also added two further anchor handlers the ITC Cyclone and ITC Chinook. They are bareboated from Indian company Marsol.

Updated 7/11/11, suspect that Tempest is on the point of being sold.

At the 2013 review it could be seen that the name of the company had changed to Tschudi Offshore and Towage. It does not really trip off the tongue like ITC but never mind. The name of this page is changed as a consequence. Feb 2013

At the 2014 review the Typhoon and the tempest are long gone, and actually one has sunk in Nigeria and i think the other has gone to the breakers. A distressing end for two groundbreaking ships. But back in Tschudi nothing has happened, although the Blizzard towed the wreck of the Costa Concordia from Giglio to Genoa.
