REM OFFSHORE

Rem Management was formed in 1996 and is based in Fosnavaag in what they call the Norwegian maritime cluster. The vessels described here are managed by Rem Maritime AS, and the company is marketed as Rem Offshore.

The company has recently been required to divide its assets with Solstad, according to a press release from Solstad the Rem vessels which have become Solstad ships are called Rem Balder, Rem Commander, Rem Supplier, Rem Fortress, Rem Clough, Rem Fortune, Rem Spirit. Because of the ship-owner's habit of naming new ship with the same names as the old ones it is not certain that everything on this page is correct, but it will be revisited when we get to doing the Solstad page.

In 2012 this page has been compared with some care with the Rem Offshore website and the details presented here appear to be correct. Hence not everything in the paragraph above appears to be correct.

The Rem website has been tidied up, and now we have confidence in what is included here. There have been two additions to the fleet since the last review.

At the 2014 review the company has added two IMR ships and have a very large anchor-handler on order.
